Finally together as a team!


It was so exciting to see Jeff, Donna, and Crissy pull up to the hotel this afternoon and finally be all together as the 2019 Ugandan Mission Team from Busti COG. The months of preparation and years of fundraising has ultimately brought us to the Eve of our departure.

I can speak for Norma Jean and Molly Angelo, Lynn Smith, Courtney Spence, Sally and I that it was so awesome to be sent off a few hours earlier by friends and family knowing that we have an army of prayer warriors who will be interceeding for us daily.

While we do not know all that is before us, we do know that Jesus will be present and working wherever we are. We also have the privilege of following his cues and entering into situations and relationships that creates for us that are sure to change us forever in ways we cannot yet imagine.

We learned on Tuesday that we will be going to two villages next week, one in Nampunge, and the other in Houma. These are villages that are NW of Kampala, and where there are Refugee camps of displaced people, to whom we have the opportunity to not only see with their eyes, but as we lead like Jesus, we hope that the eyes of their hearts will be open to see hope that comes when Jesus is the focus.

Please pray for us that we will reflect Jesus in all that we say and do, but more importantly, by who we are and what he is doing in our lives!

WHAT AN AWESOME God we serve! Today we had the privilege of going to BUKASA PRIMARY SCHOOL and doing some jja jja visits. We arrived in the morning and set up our clinic. I had the honor of being part of the Visual Aquity team with AmyLynn, Dina,Sunday and Alexander(a local young man). Today we served the students and faculty of Bukasa. It was so much fun working with them! They are so proud of their new glasses or sunglasses. They sang some songs for us and the kids enjoyed watching what we were doing and having their pictures taken. They love to see themselves in the pictures. In the afternoon I went with AmyLynn and a lovely young social worker named Nora. We walk from the school into the main part of the village to meet with the jja jja's. We stopped at the grocery store to pick up food gift bags. We take rice, beans, bread, corn meal,sugar for their families and we also took some toiletries and stuffed animals and an article of clothing for a child. They are so appreciative

Monday,Monday....sounds like a song.  Today was catch up day.  Catch up on laundry, some more shopping, and napping!  I participated in all three!  So since this was a rest day I would like to reflect on the past few weeks and some of  the people I met that inspired  me.   Generous was the pastor of the church in  Kasubu.  This woman's faith and her servant heart for trying to make an impoverished village better.  She knew the only way possible was through her trust and love for her Savior Jesus Christ.  Her drive and love of God was inspiring. She has touched.my life forever.   Mosses and Sundae are our two drivers who have been with us all two weeks.  Mosses smile is so contagious that you can't be sad around him.  He is kind and soft spoken. He loves Jesus and his life is one of a true servant of God.  Sundae is the enforcer of the two.  Younger in years he took charge the one day when the crowd got unruly.  His village in Gulu was our last visit and he is so proud of the

Beginning the Work

Sunday March 17:  I guess it’s actually continuing the work.  If you know us you know we have been preparing for a few months now.  Once we pulled out of the driveway Friday morning to drive to Buffalo, it was too late to squeeze in one more thing in to do.  The SUV was full to the brim with the suitcases for our clothes etc but also equipment. Sunday ... Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in Thanksgiving. Col. 2:6,7. Today we arrived in Saudia Arabia about 7:30....after a 12 hour flight... after a 4 hour flight...and a four hour sleep at the hotel......after a 7 hour drive.  But we weren’t finished.  We walked to the other end of the airport, got on a bus for 20 minutes.
