Nawantumbi days

 Saturday March 5 - Sunday March 6.

We stayed at a guest house in Nawantumbi . Saturday we were in Moses’ home town and Roy did his pastor leadership, Carna and Sally did grief groups, Norma Jean, Kenzie and I played with the kids. We started by handing out coloring pages and crayons. The kids all sat on a big tarp and colored. While they were doing that, the three of us were blowing up balloons. Some of the balloons popped as soon as they hit the ground because it was so pointy. When the kids got done coloring they came over and were playing with the balloons. Some kids wanted to blow up some of the balloons so they did. After the balloons, we got out the beach balls. These all had to be blown up. I blew up all six of them. I had a lot of hot air!! These were a huge hit!!!! We went to eat lunch. It was a nice break.

After lunch we returned to play with the kids. We got out the parachute and the kids were very excited. That was the first time I have ever seen the parachute toy. Kenzie had a group of kids in a circle throwing a beach ball back and forth to them.

Sunday March 6, 2022 - we ate breakfast at 8:00 and then went to Godfrey’s house and project. Godfrey was a sponsor child and now is a grown man with a wife, 6 children and in charge of Lords Grace school that has 500 children. After that we went to church that started at 9:00. It was approximately a 3 hour service. During the service there was a lot of singing and dancing. Our Uganda team sang God So Loved the World and Oh Victory. Pastor Roy led the service today. After the service, we left for a 4 hour ride to Kampala. When we returned to the Stevenson’s, our stuff got brought into the house. We sat down and checked our devices before we ate dinner. We had delicious veggie lasagna, meat lasagna, bread , salad and fruit. We relaxed in the living room, did our devotional for the day, and some did their blog for the day. It was a warm day in Uganda. 95 degrees and humid. God bless Moses (our AMAZING driver). He is an all amazing man. He is a father and grandfather. His smile can make anyone smile! I am very impressed with him.

God bless you all.
